Program Overview:
The Wormery Experience
Learn the basic concepts of food circularity: from organic waste, to composting, and back to food.
Location:
The Grove at Western Fair District,
900 King St, London ON
Duration:
2-2.5 hours
Workshops and Demonstrations
During the trip, students will receive demonstrations and interactive presentations on composting topics:
Functions of "The Wormery" composting facility
Fundamentals of soil and planting
Introduction to mushroom growing and composting
Hands-On Activities
Throughout the experience, students can get their hands dirty with composting tasks and games (PPE provided):
Composting worm scavenger hunt
Using compost in soil mixing and planting
Organics sorting and compost preparation
Classroom Learning Kits
Teachers will have the option to take how one of our Classroom Learning Kits to continue the circular discussion at school:
(1) Worm Composting Kit (renting options available)
(1-3) Mushroom Growing Blocks
(1-3) Seedling/Microgreen Grow Kit

Trips are conducted from a target window of
10am to Noon
- however are flexible to accommodate transportation timing.
